12/18

We've been having a lot of fun this week. Finals are over for my whole apartment complex, and I just have this one week of school until christmas break. I'm so excited!
Here's Gared, with two donut holes stuffed in his mouth. Wierdo...

This week I went and saw the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's Christmas Concert. It was amazing! I took a friend, and afterwards, we walked around Temple Square looking at the christmas lights.
It's gorgeous this time of year!On Friday we also had a winter wonderland themed Fashion Show. I missed the actual show unfortunately, because I went and saw the motab, but I was able to help out and see portions of the hair and makeup. In the picture above, you see the model that I was assigned to help work with. We were trying to make him into a modern Mr. Mint from the game Candyland. We only had his beard done when we ran the first run through. We made it out of crushed up candy. And for the hair, we planned on using pink frosting covering the whole head. I hope I get to see pictures of the finished product!

This girl is in my class, and she looked amazing just halfway done! Her hair was made out of cotton candy.
This week has been rather stressful, with lots of fun stuff mixed in as well. I started work, and I'm ready to quit already. But after talking to lots of people, I know that it's not smart to just up and quit right now, so I'm going to stick with it for as long as I can without going insane. It has definitely been a humbling experience. There are a few places that I didn't apply to before because I guess I was too prideful. But not that I have this job, and I absolutely cannot stand it, I have applied to all of those places that I swore I would never work at. In fact, I would be happy to work at those places. I just need to work interacting with and helping people, and also a place where I get to use my hands. I have to DO something. That's why I'm going into Cosmetology! It's all done with your hands, and you get to talk with people. It's perfect for me. So that has not been enjoyable. But apparently, lots of things in life are not enjoyable, but you have to be an adult about it and suck it up... honestly, I'm down with staying a kid for the rest of my life. I think I can sympathize a little more with Peter Pan, now.

What's new?

So I have some good news.... I got a job! It's not the greatest job, but it's money in the bank and I am grateful :)

Some exciting things that have happened in the last couple of weeks... Gared finally started his dating classes! After weeks of us roommates + Jenna asking him for dating advice, he's finally decided to start a class for our whole floor.

I know what you are thinking: Do any guys come? As you can see from the picture, girls eat this stuff up! But just for the record, there were five, FIVE, guys there total. Not just the two you can see in the picture :) This whole apartment complex will have boyfriends/girlfriends before you know it!

Doesn't he just look like a teacher?

On monday night we have ward Family Home Evening. And we made gingerbread houses. One of the guys made this one. It's Repunzel's tower. See her red licorice braid hanging out of the window?

The hiiiiills are aliiiiiiiiive, with the sound of meuuuuuuuusiiiiiiiiiic! I feel like Julie Andrews :) I couldn't help it! I had to cut my hair again. And I love it. I'm starting to think that I may never have long hair ever again...

Can I just say how much I LOVE my roommates? I hear horror stories from some of my friends from school, and how much they absolutely can't stand their roommates. Why did I get so lucky? I get to live with my sister, and also two of the best girls in the world. I just love them! We also have an awesome ward, and the whole set-up of the apartment complex creates a very social, fun atmosphere. I am going to be SO sad when my roommates leave. One is set to turn in her papers for a mission in the spring, and the other is graduating! So sad :(

Ta ta for now :)
