Life is Good

Here's another photo just for you, Mom.

Look at all of the healthy things I am getting! I only got one can of spagettios, and I got sprouts and lettuce and tofu and peas and tuna...

I found this in the tub this week. It's hair. I huge hair ball. It was clogging the drain and I pulled it out. I definitely have NOT contributed to this!

I had a friend come visit me at work this week, and leave a message on one of the tables. I love having visitors! Hopefully Mom and Dad will be able to come see me when they visit in a couple weeks :)

One of my school friends got married on Friday, and a bunch of us went to her lovely reception.

When we started school we all predicted that someone would get married, and someone would get pregnant. Both have happened!

Our toilet flooded today. And guess who fixed it? Me! I have no clue how toilets work, but I just lifted the top, pulled a couple levers and voila! It stopped flooding. Then I just used the plunger. Easy peasy.

Here's my newly rearranged room. Jenna and I basically share one big bed now.

This week we started a new phase, the infinity phase. The name is fitting, because it's a very long phase. So far I love my teacher. We finally have a woman teacher again, and I think our class will get a long very well with her.
That's all the update I have! I'm loving my new ward, apartment, roommates, etc... Life is good!

So...

So I noticed that I tend to begin my posts with "so". I'm "So Average Adult" and I like to say so. Oh well.
So work is great. I love it. A free waffle or crepe every shift, no matter how long or short? You just can't beat that! Yeah, I might get fat, but these waffles are soooooo goooooood...

I made this waffle the other day. It's a Liege Waffle, with strawberries and nutella. It's exactly what I had the very first time Jenna and I had waffles in Belgium.

Jenna and Clayton and I spent several hours together at the A's on Sunday night. We were waiting for Dani to have her baby so we could run over there and see her. She is the cutest little thing! As a side note for Caroline: She used a method called Hyponobirthing, I don't know if you've ever heard of it, but it seriously sounds like the coolest thing in the world. You should check it out. Oh, and I have been getting your constant messages about the vegetarian enchiladas, sorry I haven't replied yet. I will definitely try them out someday when I have time :)

In other news, I got rejected for the first time ever last week. Look at this, it even has big red letters saying "REJECTED". I'm hurt! At least it's only paperwork for a voting ballot. I filled it out again and sent it off last week, so hopefully it'll work out this time. I am determined to be a good citizen. I am going to vote! It'll be my very first time voting and I am so excited!

Jenna and I rearranged our room already. I love rearranging furniture, and thankfully, so does she. I think the room  looks so much much better, and now I'm in the mood to decorate, and look at all of these cute things I found!

They're tree branches!

So cute! And cheap! You can get sticks from outside and just make all of this yourself!

So that's exactly what I decided to do! After school on tuesday I drove down to Spanish Fork Canyon towards the trail that leads to the hot springs to look for some branches. It had gotten pretty dark at that point, which I hadn't anticipated. Anyway, I parked at one of the gravel turnoffs, and pointed my headlights in the direction of the trees while I rummaged around looking for good dead branches. After I had gathered a little pile, I spotted one that looked good, and I was just about to grab it when I realized it was a snake skin. I fuh-reaked out, got in my car and drove away without taking anything from my pile. Maybe I'll go back during the day.

Here's the lovely view on the drive down to Spanish Fork. So pretty!

Here's another waffle that I made on wednesday. I call it "Emma's Favorite". One the owner's sisters works at the shop, and she has her "favorite" waffle named after her on the menu, so this one is mine.
It's a cinnamon based waffle with butter and cinnamon sugar, caramel cream syrup, and strawberries. To. Die. For. It's the best thing I've eaten there so far.

BEFORE

Last night I went to a dance party/bonfire near the salt flats, and it was so much fun! I went with three of my roommates and another friend of theirs. Hayley, on the right, is one of my roommates.

AFTER

As you can tell, we wore ourselves out pretty good.
We stopped at a macdonald's on the way home to refuel, and then drove an hour and a half back to Provo.
I can't believe how lucky I got with these roommates. I love them all. They are super social, which I am not, so they are helping me get out and meet people. We went hot tubbing four nights this week! It's kind of exhausting to me, I'm not used to going going going, doing everything and meeting everyone, but I think it's good for me. I hope so. I have been SO tired lately.

I was super exhausted this morning, but I made it out to Lehi to eat lunch with a Philmont friend who just moved out to Salt Lake.
And I was reunited with Carlos! Our Mexican mariachi player that guarded our yurt at Seally Canyon.

This is Reid. He went to Philmont this summer, and he barely ate any of his lunch today. All he wanted to do was talk about his summer at philmont!

I'm pretty sure I'll be going back next summer. It'll be a fun way to earn some money, and I have to do at least one more fun thing before I settle down and pick a place to live and start a career. Right? I'm only 19, I have a little time to still be a kid, don't I?

For Mom

This one is just for you, Mom :)

My bed is made. And my room is all organized and clean!

My kitchen is also very clean.

One of our roommates was able to supply the living room with some very homey decorations. A few pillows and some plants, and it makes everything look that much better!

I'm eating lots of healthy organic stuff (ignore the Ramens in the back round). I got a few of these quinoa packets. Haven't tried it yet but I'm sure it'll taste fine. Also one of our bishopric members brings baskets of fresh vegetables  from his garden every week to ward prayer, and I got some of those.

I am trying to be very social. Yesterday I went to the break the fast and ward prayer. Tonight I went to FHE. We played games and ate s'mores.
I also played the piano in sacrament meeting yesterday. I didn't have a chance to mess around with the organ beforehand, so they told me to just stick to the piano until I had gotten familiar with the organ. I think I'll stay late after institute tomorrow and hopefully get a chance to practice!
My apartment is officially the "party apartment". Last night we had game night, and I think it will be a tradition held at our apartment every sunday from now on. We had a ton of people come over (quite a few dudes, in fact) and we played until someone noticed it was past midnight and time to go home. I know the names of several members of the ward, and when I see them out n' about I make sure to say hello and chat for a little bit.

Happy?

We've had a lot of sorely needed rain this week. It's made for some very pretty sunsets :)

Saturday was my last day at Culver's. Here's my good friend Ali who got me the job. Now this picture captures a very rare moment with Ali. She doesn't give hugs. I guess she likes me enough to give me a hug! It's not the last time I'll see her of course, we'll still be spending 30 hours a week together at school.

I left a little present for when Jenna got home yesterday. This is my manikin head waiting to creep her out. It actually looks just like me! It even had the nappy hair like it had been sleeping.
She got creeped out :)

Today I went with Jenna to watch Clayton's volleyball tournament. He's really good! I really enjoyed watching his team.

Jenna decorated her wall with pictures of her and Claybear today. So cute. A little creepy, but mostly cute.

We also enjoyed the view out of our window :)

I painted my nails today. Ohhhh how I've missed painting my nails. At Culver's we weren't allowed to wear fake nails, painted nails, long earrings, necklaces, or bracelets. I also had to wear a baseball cap and a button up collared shirt at Culver's. Basically, I couldn't be a girl while I worked there. Now that I'm at the Awful Waffle I can be a girl again!

Clayton and I visited Jenna at work tonight. I had the Liege waffle with cream cheese frosting and raspberries. Yum.
Did I mention that I love my new job? It's so easy and laid back and I love all the people that I work with. Also it's just down the road. Things just couldn't get any better!
