Pumpkins 2013

The Fab Four and a VW Bus. They look pretty good, if I do say so myself :)

Homework. Does it ever end? Before I started college, my biggest concern was that I wouldn't be able to understand the material. I didn't think I would be smart enough for college. I'm quickly realizing that in order to be successful in college, you don't have to be smart, you just have to be really focused, and you can't allow yourself to get behind on homework. I find that I'd rather drown during the week, and give myself a break on the weekends, than divide the homework more equally throughout the entire week. That way I still get to do some fun things :)

Friday evening I went sailing with Mom and Dad and the activity day girls. It was a blast! I had so much fun listening to the girls' conversations. They're such little information gatherers. They asked each other every random question they could think of, and made proper, kind responses to everything. So entertaining.

I've been attempting to keep up on my mountain biking skilz. There's a good trail just north of me, in Roanoke, with some fairly strenuous sections. I took a tumble on my last ride, and almost landed in this cactus patch. It was pretty scary.

I also spend a few weekends a month hanging out with this good buddy, Dexter. Last night we went to ihop, and he got... chicken and waffles? Dexter currently has a concussion. So you can attribute the dazed facial expression to that.

Congratulations to my sister, Holly, and her brand new Baby, Henry :) Isn't he just adorable?!?! I wish so, so badly that I could have gone with my parents to visit them. The idea of being near Holly and Gared and this baby when he was born was the only thing that made me rethink moving to Texas. I wanted to continue to live near them so badly. But Texas was the right decision, and I fully intend on visiting them soon :) I can't wait to meet this little man!

In other news, I recently started training at a local salon. I haven't been hired on officially, but things are going well, and I am hopeful :)

I love being back in Texas. I love being at home. Besides that massive amounts of homework, I'm actually loving my classes. I feel very, very blessed. Life is good :)
